SteamPunked "Mad Hatter's Teacup" / IN GALLERY!

SteamPunked Sculpture #19 / FOR SALE
"Mad Hatter's TeaCup"
ON DISPLAY & AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT:
DANCING MOON GALLERY
Church & Spring Street
Westport, ON
Sculpture is approximately 16" tall.
Brand new, visually startling, the Mad Hatter's Teacup sits perched precariously at the top of a towering sculpture of maddening physics.
Nothing seems right! Everything about this sculpture makes the viewer feel uneasy and at the same time curious and a little playful. Mystical tea, full of 19th century gears and hat pins fills the cups, and in some cases has even spilled from one to another. Below on the kettle a cup, full of sugar cubes, sits at an alarming angle looking like it's about to fall off the side of the teapot, while a mysterious small dram sits in the middle of the sculpture with glinting green jewels. The whole thing is mad indeed!
19th century parts and pieces make up 70% of this piece; the watch parts, teacups and saucers. The kettle is mid 20th century with original ceramic handle and lid knob; the inside is partially filled with Hydrocal for weight. The resin used in the piece is professional acrylic resin.

SteamPunked "Necessities" / FOR SALE!

SteamPunked Sculpture #17 / FOR SALE
"Necessities"
When a steampunk artist finds them self reaching for inspiration, or jammed up with engineering block... what do they do? They turn to necessity, the Mother of all invention!
Conveniently bottled and, prescribed to be taken on an 'as needed basis', the steampunk artist can now alleviate the difficulties that challenge them and forge on ahead!
This piece is composed of three separate bottles and tray, dating from the early 20th century. The capsules are made of a gelatin casing filled with a liquid adhesive - kept from curing to retain its liquid movement. Suspended in the liquid are various pieces from 19th century watches.

SteamPunked "Oiled Tea Lantern" / IN GALLERY!

SteamPunked Sculpture #15 / FOR SALE
"Oiled Tea Lantern"
ON DISPLAY & AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT:
DANCING MOON GALLERY
Church & Spring Street
Westport, ON
Sculpture is approximately 9" tall.
During one of her excursions in to the deep mountainside of the Forgotten Cities, Professor Pugnacious Puganinny© found herself plunged in to a darkness that she'd not seen since The Eclipsing of two star cycles past.
The Fyre Fly light orbs on her airship were having difficulty cutting through the murkiness. Their normally bright glow which helped to light the deck of the ship were now just dull glowing balls of light that didn't even touch the ship's rails.
She knew she would need to fashion some sort of portable light that would be stronger than her fyre fly orbs, could be made with what was aboard the ship and could be small enough to be easily maneuvered while piloting the vessel. Looking around her quickly, she set about her task...
The base of this sculpture is constructed from a 19th century candle holder, and an early 20th century oil lamp. Various mechanical pieces and parts from both centuries have been added for overall SteamPunked flavour. The end result is a tea-light candle holder .

ON DISPLAY & AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT:
FROM HERE TO INFINITY ART GALLERY AND BOOK SHOP
213 King Street West
Brockville, ON
Every decade the ‘Order of the Super Prestigious Explorators and Un-Earthers’ meets at a secret location in the air, to decide who will be that decade’s recipient of ‘The Coveted Trophy of Outstanding Exploration and Discovery’.
A most distinguished and hard earned award to be bestowed upon. So difficult is it to earn that there have been decades when no trophy was awarded; the Order found that all submissions were too simple and not worthy of the designation. There are thousands of entries every year and tons of documents, findings, reports and pictures to wade through; there’s even a separate room for samples. So it takes nearly a decade to process all the entries.
Every millennium the trophy itself is replaced with a new version and design so that it keeps evolving with it’s recipients
